Project Mammut is in constant development with lots of amazing ideas and features in the works. Here is a basic outline of with is planned in the upcoming months.

Version 0.6.X (current)

This is the version that is currently under development. The focus of this version is to streamline the onboarding process and remove as much friction for new developers as possible.

This includes:

  • Creating this wiki
  • Producing game templates
  • Writing tutorials
  • Cleaning up UI
  • Providing more feedback from the engine
  • Increased community engagement

Version 0.7.X

The focus of this version will be accessibility, sharing ideas, and the player experience.

Updates to the runtime:

  • Better saving and loading
  • Conversation history
  • Conversation rollback
  • Systems that allow for advanced accessibility features for uses who read Visual Novels by using the keyboard or other accessibility hardware systems.

Tools to help developers:

  • In game debugging tools to help developers find bugs quicker
  • Improved package system to allow for developers to make their own templates and be auto credited when people use them.

Version 0.8.X

This version will have a focus on the downloadable stand alone editor, something that has been asked for since the beginning. This will ensure developers can make games offline and they will have more control of the version of the editor they are using.

This version will require a lot more testing and have specific code for different operating systems, but in the end will be a feature that will help a lot of people.

Version 0.9.X and Beyond
